A Moment with Our Creator: Habakkuk 3:3-4

Today’s scripture photo is one of the fruits from my recent holiday in the mountains.  Each day included trails to be explored and time to be refreshed in the Word, particularly the third chapter of Habakkuk.  When I read today’s verses, I immediately thought of a picture taken on an earlier hike.  The rays of morning light shining through the trees and down on us would have gone unnoticed had I not stopped to snap this picture of Adi and Summer on the trail.  The same is true each day.  Only when I pause and look around do I see the glory of the Lord shining around me.

  2. You’ve got me thinking, Beth. The glory of the Lord IS always shining, just like the sun is always shining–even on the cloudiest days. When I paused to look around on Saturday while doing yard work I spied the tiniest of mushrooms, complete with numerous pleats–in spite of its diminutive size. God’s glory was on display, hidden in the grass.

    1. Thank you, GW! We all had a wonderful time, dogs and humans alike. It was a much needed time of refreshment and wonderful way to celebrate the end of another school year.

  5. I’m always thankful when I pause long enough to read your blog, Beth. And your reminder to pause and see God’s splendor all around us…His glory…is so true. I get too busy sometimes, but more and more God is nudging me to slow down, to look around, and to consider His evidence both in my life and in the world around me. I love Adi and Summer, and all the lessons God teaches you and that you share with us as you walk through your days with them. Have a very blessed weekend!

    1. Thank you Manette! The dry spell we are currently experiencing opened up trails that are usually inaccessible due to mud. The one in which this picture was taken was the most picturesque. It was a blessing to be surrounded by the wonder of God’s creation.

    1. It was absolutely lovely Jo and a wonderful way to celebrate the end of another school year. I came back refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to tackle those project that get neglected when school is in session.

  10. The photo and the scripture from Habakkuk are a perfect fit, Beth. As our mutual blogger friend Gary Fultz likes to say, God’s creation often speaks to us with more power than written or spoken words. We need only ears to hear and eyes to see the work of God around us. Blessings!

    1. Thank you, David! Gary’s quote is the perfect addition to this picture. I believe his photos are richer and more inspirational because he takes them with such a deep knowledge, appreciation, and sense of wonder of our Creator.
