Be at rest once more, Oh my soul. For the Lord has been good to you.
Psalm 116:7
Rest seems to be the theme of Lessons from a Lab this month. In this photograph, Adi is enjoying a fireside nap after a long, cold walk through the corn fields. I in turn, found my soul rest in the walk itself, enjoying the beauty of nature with the Lord and my Lab by my side.
Before I close, I want to introduce you to a fellow blogger, Gary Fultz who also enjoys walking through nature with the Lord by his side. Gary has a gift of capturing the beauty around him with word and camera. Click on either title below to enjoy the beauty of his walk.

Thank you Avigail! There is definitely a sense of peacefulness in our house when our Labs are soundly sleeping.

A real fire!! Delightful. 🙂

It is the most delightful fireplace warming up after being outside. It is also where all wet boots, gloves, scarves etc. go to dry out.

🙂 I can almost smell the wet wool mittens steaming!! We’ve hardly had any snow this winter — sadly. There’s still February to go, though!

Some of the best snows happen in February and March.

Rest is so very important! I was sick for eight days with a bad cold/flu. I was actually in bed with the pillows piled high and a lot of books and peppermint tea. I am better now, but my body surely needed the rest to get well.

Linda, I’m so glad you are on the mend and had the ability to give your body the rest it needed, and I hope you enjoyed some good books. whenI was little and got a cold, my dad would give me lemon zinger tea. Now as an adult, I keep a box of that tea on hand and steep a mug full whenever I feel sick. I’m not sure the role teas play in the healing process but boy they do have the ability to sooth a sore throat and relieve a stuffy head.

Rest is currently a very good lesson for me right now. I will follow your lab’s example 🙂

Sounds like a good plan especially if it includes a warm fire on a cold day.

I’m glad you enjoy walking through my pictures Beth. It is fun to capture beauty and there is such a restfulness in the peaceful times of nature. Adi times in front of the fire…priceless.

Gary, I’m grateful the Lord has planted you in a place where you are surrounded by the wonders of His creation then given you the gift for capturing it with a camera. What makes your pictures even more poignant is knowing that each has been taken and shared to His glory. I’m hoping many will visit your website and be blessed.

Ah, the value of a well earned rest! This is something more of us should do, especially on the Sabbath. Adi takes up most of the fireside, but I bet she’s willing to share. 😀
Gary has a wonderful way with words and photos. Yours is an excellent recommendation!

Thank you David! The fact that the 15th fell on a Sunday made this scripture photo all the more appropriate.

What a lovely post Beth, we all need some rest sometime. I have been doing a lot of resting the last few days too. That fire looks mighty inviting…budge up a bit Adi! 😁

Thank you Alan! So glad that you’ve been enjoying some rest. This is the go to fireplace when cold. It makes you warm and toasty real quick as well provides ample room to dry glove and boots wet from the snow.
