A Moment with Our Creator: Psalm 42:5

“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.”

The photograph used in today’s scripture photo was captured by my youngest daughter.  Summer was waiting for morning lessons to finish so the kids would be available to play. I’ve had some queries about the photographs on my blog. All the pictures used are of Adi, Summer, or members of Adi’s Labrador family.  A few were taken by family or friends and used with their permission while the rest I captured with the camera on my Samsung phone.  I am not a photographer so I’m grateful for the tips I’ve gleaned over the years from friends and fellow bloggers like

    This is a wonderful photo for that verse. That look is how I felt a few days ago … but God! He comes through in amazing ways when we acknowledge out weariness.

    1. Thank you Mary! I like to encourage others in their craft when I can. For author’s like you, I try to purchase their books and leave Amazon reviews. I’m hoping you will have another book coming out in 2022.

      1. Beth, thank you so much! I’m happy that you have expressed an interest in another book from me. YES! My publisher is working to get another novel I recently wrote, and have it out in May 2022. It’s completely different than my first novel. It is a story of love and forgiveness. I will keep you posted. Also, I appreciate those who buy my books and leave a comment on Amazon or other places. This is helpful. Thanks.

  9. Such an apt picture for an often-needed verse. It is also a graphic photo of a devoted servant and friend waiting for her master’s call who is also a friend. Beautiful rendering in so many ways! Thank you for sharing this, Beth!

    1. Thank you GW! You definitely saw the deeper message in the picture and in the verse. An echo of Jesus’ words “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends…” (John 15:15) Despair has no hold on us when we know that the the Lord is our Master, our Friend, and our Savior.

    1. Thank you David! I’m so glad the timing fell just right for you. Summer is usually so good about laying and sleeping during morning lessons, but this was taken the first day back in school after a lengthy Christmas/Winter weather break. She clearly prefers the vacation/weekend schedule over the school schedule.
