A Moment with Our Creator: Isaiah 9:2

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; On those in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.”

-Isaiah 9:2

Dear Reader, may you experience and walk in the light and love of Jesus this Christmas season and in the new year to come. Sincerely, Beth Alisan

My blogging friend GW at His Eye is on the Sparrow, a blog I highly recommend, introduced me to the work of singer/ songwriter Simon Khorolskiy. For this advent season, I share with you Khorolskiy’s rendition of one of my favorite Christmas carols.  Merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you David! The picture of Adi is taken in my all time favorite place- the cornfields behind my childhood home. I like the idea of a calendar. We usually get a Labrador calendar but I have yet to find one. I think I might explore making my own.

Thank you, Beth, for sharing the hymn; it’s one of my favorites, too, and he does a wonderful job with it. WOW!
Merry Christmas to you and your family, including canines and felines!

    1. Oh I’m so glad you enjoyed Khorolskiy’s video! So far the animals have done quite well with the Christmas decorations. Our cat has only taken one flying leap into the middle of the tree and the tree stayed upright. The puppy is content licking the ornaments on the bottom limbs rather than chewing on them. And, Adi’s tail hasn’t sent any ornaments flying off the tree.

Sounds like a good animal report! 🙂
We’ve had an artificial tree for years. One year one of our cats restrained himself beautifully through the season until my mother had all but the lights off the tree. Then Tiger got a look in his eyes, and charged up the tree! You could tell he’d been waiting to do that! 🙂

  2. Such a beautiful photo, Beth! Adi truly appears transfixed by the Great Light rising from the darkness! Isaiah 9 is one my favorite OT messianic prophesies of our coming Jesus. Isaiah is quite the consummate poet in his writing of the “mini-bible.”
Thank you so much for your generous shoutout. I am truly humbled by it, my very kind friend! A very Merry Christmas to you and all your family! Blessings to you!

Also, I’m glad you like Simon Khorolskiy’s open-air artistic style of hymns and songs. I have a packet of his videos at my youtube channel I will probably re-submit from time to time.

    1. Thank you GW! I would have to say that Isaiah is my favorite of the OT books. With each passing year, I find the Words richer and more meaningful. I hope that my readers will visit your blog and be blessed as I am by the words you write. Merry Christmas.

      1. I certainly agree with you about Isaiah, Beth. The Lord has spoken to me personally from Isaiah more than any other OT reference. Jesus referenced Isaiah second only to Moses in the gospels. Blessings.

    1. You are absolutely right, Mary. Sadly, too many pass through Christmas focused on the material aspects of the holiday without recognizing or receiving the greatest gift ever- Jesus. I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas!
